About Us

sam.
Sam works full time with McKinney church as a College  Resident. He is on staff with the church, but his salary is completely paid by our supporters (see How to Give for more information on this).
Sam spends the majority of his time on Texas Christian University’s campus engaging students, leading a community group, building relationships, discipling guys, and sharing the Gospel. He is essentially a missionary to TCU. In addition to meeting students, Sam is heavily involved with training and equipping the Encounter student leaders to carry out their own ministry at TCU.
Sam’s position with McKinney Church has been designed to equip him for a lifetime of ministry. He has the opportunity experience and learn about discipleship, preaching, admin work, and missions. This job not only teaches him knowledge and skills, but provides experiences that help us as we figure out what his direction and calling for the rest of his life will be. Currently, Sam dreams of a future in church planting in areas around the U.S. and the world! Finally, Sam is attending Dallas Theological Seminary part-time and working towards a Masters of Theology.

I also serve as a College Resident at McKinney Church. I am over the community and discipleship aspects of our college ministry. This role fits my giftings and passions very well! Throughout the week this looks like meeting new girls on campus, leading a community group, planning discipleship programs, and facilitating outreach events.

Eventually, I wants to do outdoors ministry; creating programming and opportunities for outdoors adventures that help students of all ages grasp Biblical truths on a heart level. This position as a resident at McKinney provides me with even more ministry and discipleship experience as I move towards this goal. I am excited to find ways to include outdoor adventures in outreach events and leadership training weekends as I learns about myself and develop the passions God has given me.

us.

Sam and I got married on May 30, 2014. Through our 2 years of dating and engagement, we learned a lot about trusting and walking in dependence upon the Almighty God. Our hope and prayer is that our lives and our relationship would bring Him the utmost glory!
The past three and a half years of marriage has been full of new experiences and adventures. Some hard, and some fun, but we are so grateful that we have gotten to do it all together! We are excited to continue to serve on TCU's campus for a new school year together and see where God takes us as we walk in faithfulness and trust.

"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us."
1 John 4:12
